Furniture assembly & repair

The boxes from IKEA or Wayfair still stacked in the hallway, a desk that came in forty pieces, a dining chair that rocks, a drawer that won't slide — Boris builds the new stuff and brings tired pieces back to solid.

Boris does not hold a California contractor's license.

He takes only small jobs that need no permit, he works on his own with no hired helpers, and the whole project stays under $1,000 including labor, materials, and all other project costs. Anything bigger, or any work that needs a permit and an inspector's sign-off, is a job for a licensed contractor, and he'll tell you so up front.

Questions about furniture assembly & repair

Do I need to buy the furniture first?

Yes — Boris builds what you already have. Leave it in the boxes; he unpacks, assembles and takes the cardboard away.

Can a wobbly chair be fixed instead of replaced?

Usually. Send a photo of the loose joint — most chairs and tables just need the joints re-glued and the hardware tightened.

How do I get a price?

Text Boris a photo of the job and a line about what you want done. For most jobs — a TV mount, a sticking door, a faucet, a light fixture — he can give you a firm price right from the photo, no visit needed just to quote.

Is the price I'm quoted the price I pay?

Yes. You get a flat price before any work starts. If Boris opens a ceiling and finds something unexpected, he stops, shows you, and you decide — nothing gets added without your OK.

Do I need to buy the parts myself?

Either way works. Most people pick their own faucet, TV mount or light fixture online or at Home Depot or Lowe’s. If you'd rather not, Boris can recommend options and pick them up.

How soon can you come?

Most jobs are scheduled within the same week, often in two or three days. Saturday appointments are available.
