Boris is not a licensed electrician. He does small repair work on existing wiring: swapping outlets, switches, light fixtures and ceiling fans. Anything that needs a permit and an inspector's sign-off — a panel upgrade, a new circuit, an EV charger or rewiring — is a job for a licensed contractor, and he'll tell you so up front.

Can you install a fixture I bought online?

Yes — most jobs are exactly that. Send a link or photo of the fixture and the spot it's going, and Boris will quote it.

My chandelier is heavy. Is that a problem?

Heavy fixtures need a fan/fixture-rated box. Boris checks what's in the ceiling and upgrades the box if needed before hanging it.

How do I get a price?

Text Boris a photo of the job and a line about what you want done. For most jobs — a TV mount, a sticking door, a faucet, a light fixture — he can give you a firm price right from the photo, no visit needed just to quote.

Is the price I'm quoted the price I pay?

Yes. You get a flat price before any work starts. If Boris opens a ceiling and finds something unexpected, he stops, shows you, and you decide — nothing gets added without your OK.

Do I need to buy the parts myself?

Either way works. Most people pick their own faucet, TV mount or light fixture online or at Home Depot or Lowe’s. If you'd rather not, Boris can recommend options and pick them up.

How soon can you come?

Most jobs are scheduled within the same week, often in two or three days. Saturday appointments are available.

Are you a licensed electrician?

No. Boris is a handyman, not a licensed contractor. California allows handymen to take on minor jobs under $1,000 including labor and materials, which covers most fixture, fan, outlet and switch work. If your job is bigger or needs a permit, he'll say so up front and point you to a licensed electrician.
